No injuries in Chilliwack residential fire

CHILLIWACK — The Chilliwack Fire Department made quick work of a house fire in the 10000 block of Fairbanks Crescent today (Aug 8).

18 firefighters from 3 halls responded to the fire at 11:15 this morning. They arrived to find smoke coming from an electrical outlet on the exterior of the home. Inside they found a small fire burning between floor joists in the basement.

The fire was quickly extinguished however the single-family home suffered minor smoke and water damage.

The cause of the fire has not been determined however it is believed to be accidental in nature.
