Interac e-transfer, debit outage shuts down e-commerce across Canada into Friday night
CHILLIWACK — The ability to conduct commercial debit and e-transfer transactions came to a screeching halt Friday and lasted into the evening following the nationwide outage of Rogers business and consumer network services.
Interac debit and e-transfer services remained unavailable Friday night.
Interac said on its Twitter feed Friday night that Rogers has made progress to restore service, but no estimated time of service reinstatement was available.
“Rogers communicated they are making progress on a resolution and once they restore a pathway to our services, it will allow us to work with our partners to bring our services back online,” the Interac statement said. “We are in close contact with Rogers and will share more information as it becomes available.”
