Driver flees traffic stop, gets caught a day later with drugs and weapons in his car: AbbyPD
ABBOTSFORD – A 37-year-old man known to police may have gotten away the first time, but it was only a matter of time before authorities caught up to him and brought him to justice.
AbbyPD spokesperson Sgt. Paul Walker says police initiated a traffic stop on Whatcom Road near Highway 1 in Abbotsford this past Sunday, April 12 at approximately 2:40 a.m. Instead of complying with directions to pull over, the man opted to flee from the attempted traffic stop.
Just a day later on Monday, patrol officers located the vehicle, arrested the driver and seized drugs and weapons from inside. The driver was also issued an immediate five-month driving prohibition.
The vehicle was seized as offence related property, and an application for its forfeiture is now underway.
