Winter weather returns today to the Coquihalla Highway between Hope and Merritt

HOPE – Just when you thought winter was in the rearview mirror, snowfall accumulations are in the forecast for the Coquihalla Highway between Hope and Merritt today.

Environment Canada says snowfall amounts of 15-25 cm is expected on the Coquihalla Highway (Highway 5) Tuesday and into Tuesday evening.

The national weather agency says falling freezing levels will attach to an influx of moisture today as a low pressure system moves across British Columbia from northwest to southeast.

Strong winds at times will accompany this system and give limited visibility in blowing snow, making travel conditions challenging at times.
