Chilliwack RCMP deal with string of break and enters, stolen vehicles the past week
CHILLIWACK – Police in Chilliwack are releasing the latest details on a string of break and enters and incidents of stolen vehicles across the city as part of their weekly recap.
According to a statement from Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener for the week of Monday, May 4 through Sunday, May 10, a residence on Quarry Road (Little Mountain area) was broken into using a garage door opener. Several sets of keys were stolen, and a vehicle from the residence was taken. The vehicle was recovered later the same day in downtown Chilliwack. Forensic Identification Services personnel are assisting with the investigation, Cpl. Kiener said.

Officers responded to a report of a break and enter at a residence on Linwood Street near Chilliwack Secondary School, where a man entered the home and confronted the homeowner. During the incident, the suspect allegedly stole a vehicle from the residence and fled the area. The following day, RCMP members located the stolen vehicle on Young Road. One man was found inside the vehicle and was safely arrested without incident.
