ABBOTSFORD — Abbotsford Police have confirmed that a body found on the grounds of Abbotsford Middle School Friday morning does not yet involve any suspected criminality.

According to a statement from Constable Artur Stele, media relations spokesperson, Abbotsford Police Department patrol officers were called at 8:21 a.m. Friday morning to the south soccer field nearest to Bevan Avenue on the grounds of Abbotsford Middle School, 33231 Bevan Avenue. School staff there had located a deceased 31-year-old male.

Cst. Stele said at 11:22 a.m. Friday morning that the next of kin notification process had not yet been completed, but he did confirm that the death does not appear to be suspicious in nature and does not pertain to any staff of the school.

The body was removed from the area at approximately 10:48 a.m. Friday morning, Cst. Stele said.
