Police investigate multiple fires in Coquitlam neighbourhood

COQUITLAM — Coquitlam RCMP are on the lookout for more information after reports of suspicious fires in the Maillardville neighbourhood last week.

On September 27 and 29, from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., officers responded to two fires near Hammond Avenue and Therrien Street, Laval Square and Cartier Avenue, and Nelson Street and Walls Avenue.

Fire crews and police then responded to a third fire on September 30, at around 10:40 p.m., in the 1100 block of Hachey Avenue.

There were no injuries at any of the events.

Investigators continue to look into the cause of the fires and any potential connections.

“We are asking anyone who may have witnessed these incidents or have information to contact Coquitlam RCMP,” said Media Relations Officer, Acting Sergeant George Han.
