Abbotsford police investigating serious collision involving cyclist
ABBOTSFORD — Abbotsford Police say they dealt with more than 300 situations over the course of the weekend, including a collision that sent one person to the hospital Sunday night.
AbbyPD officers were called to South Parallel Road near Whatcom Road Sunday evening to investigate a collision between a cyclist and a vehicle. Police say the cyclist suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to the hospital. Meanwhile the driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the police. No charges have been announced.
Overall, police say they removed 11 impaired drivers from Abbotsford streets and issued 40 violation tickets.
Police were also busy dealing with 16 intimate partner violence reports, 13 assaults, 12 thefts, 11 missing person reports, five break-ins, and five collisions.
