UPDATE: 47-year-old woman wanted by Mission RCMP for robbery and assault has been arrested

UPDATE 3 P.M. WEDNESDAY: Mission RCMP now say the 47-year-old woman who was recently convicted of robbery, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm and possession of stolen property has been arrested and will be held for court.

“Thanks everyone for your attention and tips,” Mission RCMP wrote in a social media post Wednesday afternoon.

MISSION — Mounties in Mission are appealing to the public for help in locating a 47-year-old woman they say was recently convicted of robbery, assault with a weapon and possession of stolen property.

According to a news release, 47-year-old Julie Matthew was recently convicted in B.C. Supreme Court of robbery, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and possession of stolen property, in relation to an incident that occurred in Deroche in 2022. She was required to return to court for sentencing but failed to appear. A warrant for her arrest haas been issued as a result.

She is known to have ties to the communities of Hope, Langley and Surrey, but may have since travelled elsewhere, police say.

Police say Matthew has a mono-colour tattoo on the left side of her neck.
