Quick thinking from resident extinguishes fire; no injuries reported
CHILLIWACK — On Monday, September 19th, at approximately 6:20 p.m., the Chilliwack Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire in the 46000 block of Camrose Avenue.
Light grey smoke emitted from a single-family detached home, and according to the fire department, the fire had the potential to cause serious damage to the home.
However, the resident acted quickly and extinguished the fire with a portable fire extinguisher before the arrival of fire crews.
Fire crews confirmed that the fire was extinguished and assisted with ventilating the smoke from the home. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries reported, and all occupants were able to safely exit their homes.
