CHILLIWACK — Chilliwack Fire Department and Chilliwack RCMP personnel were dispatched late Saturday night (Mar. 15) after a vehicle incident at the roundabout at Tyson Road and Watson Road in Chilliwack.

According to scanner traffic, Chilliwack Fire Engines 1 and 4 were called for the report of an accident at about 11:35 p.m. at the Tyson Road roundabout near the 5900 block of Tyson Road. Firefighters were there within minutes.

A picture taken by Jordann O’Byrne showed multiple first responders, including at least three RCMP units, attending the incident.

The circumstances behind the crash are not immediately known. Fraser Valley Today has reached out to the Upper Fraser Valley detachment seeking comment on the incident. Roads were moist at the time of the incident due to rain that night.

The scene was left in care of RCMP members.

At least two signs were knocked down due to the vehicle incident, including a Tyson Road northbound sign, and another sign was severely bent following the crash. Firefighters notified dispatch that public works crews would be needed to fix the signs. Deep tire tracks were visible on the roundabout’s grass Sunday morning.
