Abbotsford hospital receives new mobility tool for recovering patients
ABBOTSFORD — Patients at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital can feel a little more comfortable through the addition of a new mobilization aid– the Sara Combilizer.
Healthcare providers traditionally move a patient around by hand if they want to transfer the individual to a different position, but the combined tilt table and stretcher chair will now help patients go at their own pace from lying down, to sitting to standing.
“This vital piece of equipment significantly enhances our ability to provide effective and compassionate care to our patients,” said Jason Krahn, physiotherapy practice lead at Abbotsford Regional Hospital, in a news release. “It empowers our therapists with the tools they need to deliver the most impactful rehabilitation programs.”
The equipment is especially useful for debilitated patients who went through severe strokes, multi-trauma or the ICU.
