Vehicle nearly strikes Chilliwack pharmacy as police issue roadside prohibition ban to driver
CHILLIWACK — A spokesperson for the Upper Fraser Valley RCMP Detachment says the driver of a vehicle that nearly struck a Rosedale pharmacy has been located and issued a roadside prohibition ban.
According to a statement from Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener, police were called to Modern Pharmacy at 51296 Yale Road at 2:23 a.m. Wednesday morning (Feb. 5) after receiving a report of a vehicle that crashed in the parking lot. Police say there was significant damage to the bollard pole in front of the store and the vehicle itself, which was evident by a photo circulating on social media.
Cpl. Kiener says the driver was located and issued an immediate roadside prohibition as a result of an impaired driving investigation.
“Thankfully no one was hurt in this incident,” Cpl. Kiener said.
