AbbyPD issue hundreds of speeding tickets in January

ABBOTSFORD — The Abbotsford Police Department has been pumping the brakes on some speed demons this new year.

In a social media post, AbbyPD reported issuing more than 300 violation tickets in the first 20 days of January, while 28 drivers had their vehicles impounded due to excessive speeding.

On Monday (Jan. 20), police also revealed they removed 87 impaired drivers in the same time period– more than double the number of impaired drivers removed in the first 20 days of 2024.

Police use both moving and stationary methods, such as photo radars, to catch infractions on the road.
