LANGLEY — Roughly $1 million worth of stolen goods have now been recovered by Langley RCMP’s Drugs and Organized Crime Section (DOCS) following a three-week investigation.

On December 17, 2024, DOCS began looking into a series of break-and-enters in the Lower Mainland. Investigators found a possible suspect and related property in south Langley’s Brookswood neighbourhood.

Mounties executed a search warrant with the Lower Mainland District Integrated Emergency Response Team (IERT) on January 7th, which uncovered an organized property crime operation. Some recovered items include:

  • 10 stolen vehicles including trailers, boats and ATVs;
  • Approximately 10,000 liters of gasoline and diesel;
  • A multitude of various power tools;
  • 3 loaded firearms; and
  • Numerous electronic devices believed to be involved in the production of fake and fraudulent identity cards and Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN).

“The sophisticated design of a large outbuilding resembled a hardware store that had been strategically established as a resale operation,” says Langley RCMP Sgt. Zynal Sharoom. “Officers continue to work to identify the rightful owners of several hundred seized items in order to advance the investigation.”

Eight people have been detained in relation to this incident. They have since been released pending further investigation.

Anyone who has purchased goods from the area of 19700-block of 28 Avenue after responding to ads on social media is asked to contact the Langley RCMP and quote file number 2024-40997.
