MISSION — DriveBC says Lougheed Highway in Mission has reopened after a vehicle crashed and struck a utility pole Tuesday evening, leading to a power outage that left over 2,400 customers without power.

Mission RCMP posted to social media Tuesday night that the intersection of Lougheed Highway and Stave Lake Street was closed after a vehicle hit a utility pole, causing hydro wires to fall.

The intersection was closed for several hours while BC Hydro crews safely cleared the downed power lines, Mission RCMP said.

A picture from a trucking group on Facebook shows a Lordco Auto Parts truck that hit a utility pole, as Mission Fire Rescue Service attended the crash scene.
