Metro Vancouver announces new South Langley Regional Park
LANGLEY — Metro Vancouver is set to establish a new 44-hectare regional park in South Langley, marking another milestone in its efforts to protect natural spaces and expand recreational opportunities.
The South Langley Regional Park will merge a recently acquired private property with Langley’s Municipal Natural Park, which the Township of Langley has donated to the regional district.
“By growing our regional park system, Metro Vancouver is helping to keep the region livable for future generations,” said Mike Hurley, Chair of Metro Vancouver’s Board of Directors. “I’m proud to see us making real progress on our parkland acquisition strategy.”
The park will protect significant natural habitats, including forests, wetlands, and riparian zones along the Little Campbell River and Kerfoot Creek, while featuring equestrian and walking trails. It will also serve as a buffer for the South Langley Regional Trail, managed by the Township.
