Multi-vehicle incident slows traffic on Highway 1 in Langley Township

LANGLEY – DriveBC says a “multi-vehicle incident” Saturday afternoon in the westbound lanes of Highway 1 near Langley Township is causing significant traffic delays.

The provincial agency says emergency crews were dispatched to the scene at the 248th street overpass just after noon.

RCMP say five vehicles were damaged in the collision with several occupants suffering minor injuries.

“The original collision happened in the passing lane … when a pickup truck towing a heavy load rear-ended a SUV and caused a chain reaction that affected all lanes of traffic,” Cpl. Michael McLaughlin said.
