FRASER-NICOLA — As he maintains a slim lead over an NDP opponent, Fraser-Nicola MLA candidate Tony Luck is racing to visit six communities this week in his expansive riding including Hope, Harrison Hot Springs and Agassiz, before this weekend’s provincial election takes place.

Tony Luck, the B.C. Conservative MLA candidate for a riding that stretches from Lillooet in the north to Sunshine Valley, wrote on Facebook that he plans to embark on what he calls a final “Whistle Stop Tour” before election day this Saturday, October 19. He’ll be meeting with constituents at six mom-and-pop restaurants and establishments.

Luck’s first stop happens Wednesday, Oct. 16 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Michael’s Family Restaurant, 37165 Lougheed Highway, in Dewdney, before heading over to Sasquatch Inn, 46001 Lougheed Highway, in Harrison Mills from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. His third stop will be Milo’s Greek Taverna, 234 Esplanade Avenue, in Harrison Hot Springs from 1-2 p.m. before he makes his way to Hope for an all-candidates forum at the Hope Rec Centre, 1005 6 Avenue, at 6 p.m.

He has three more stops planned for Thursday, Oct. 17, starting at the Corner Cafe, 1824 Agassiz-Rosedale Highway, in Agassiz from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by Rolly’s Restaurant (888 Fraser Avenue) in Hope from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and Fat Jack’s Diner (50865 Trans-Canada Highway) in Boston Bar from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

“This is your final opportunity to meet Tony before Election Day!” Luck’s Facebook page said. “Join us at one of these stops, bring your questions, and learn more about how the Conservative Party of BC is ready to stand up for Fraser-Nicola.”

According to 338Canada.com, Luck leads NDP candidate Francyne Joe 47-44. Joe acknowledged this three-point difference in a Facebook post Monday night (Oct. 14) in which she urged her supporters to get out and vote.

The Fraser-Nicola riding also includes Merritt, Logan Lake, Lytton, and all of Fraser Canyon extending north to Lillooet.
