ABBOTSFORD — A 60-year-old female has died Tuesday morning (Oct. 8) following a reported collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Gladys Avenue in Abbotsford.

According to a news release from AbbyPD spokesperson Constable Artur Stele, AbbyPD patrol officers were dispatched Tuesday morning at 6:02 a.m. to the 34000 block of Gladys Avenue for a reported collision involving a pedestrian. Responding officers at the scene identified a 60-year-old female suffering from life-threatening injuries. She would later succumb to her injuries.

Police say the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. Preliminary information suggests impairment was not a factor in the fatal crash.

The affected stretch of Gladys Avenue will be closed as investigators, with the assistance of the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (I.C.A.R.S.), collect and review evidence to determine the factors leading up to the crash.
