Gallery 7’s annual ‘Comedy Fest’ brings improv, stand-up without ‘bawdy or crude’ humour

ABBOTSFORD – Gallery 7 Theatre’s annual Comedy Fest weekend will feature an all-ages improv and stand-up comedy night featuring comic and actor Leland Klassen.

The events will run over two nights, with Very, Very Improv Theatre, a new professional comedy troupe from Langley, BC, taking to the stage on October 18th.

A ‘Stand Up Night’ hosted by actor and comedian Cliff Prang will take place the following night, October 19th.

Gallery 7’s managing artistic director, Ken Hildebrandt, characterizes the two nights as laughs for the whole family that avoid “bawdy or crude humour.”

“Some of the best comedy I’ve seen has made me laugh without going into the toilet,” Hildebrandt said.

“I believe the roster of comedians and performers we have on tap for this year’s festival is up to the challenge of providing just that kind of comedy.”

The festival takes place at the Matsqui Centennial Auditorium on South Fraser Way. Tickets can be found on Gallery 7’s website or by calling 604-504-5940.
