Valley Huskers suffer humbling defeat vs. the Okanagan Sun Saturday night in Chilliwack
CHILLIWACK — The Valley Huskers were no match for the surging, undefeated Okanagan Sun Saturday night as they suffered a humbling 26-0 shutout defeat at Exhibition Stadium in Chilliwack.
The Huskers came into the game riding high from their season debut a week prior in which they clobbered the Kamloops Broncos 51-7 behind 332 passing yards from QB Tyran Duval and 127 rushing yards and a pair of scores from running back Jawad Harb.
But they ran into a buzzsaw against the Sun, who limited the Huskers to 292 total yards and only 120 passing yards from Duval on 10 completions.
Sun quarterback Liam Kroeger threw a touchdown and ran one in to propel Okanagan to a 19-0 halftime lead. Kroeger had 15 completions for 187 yards, while running back Elelyon Noa produced 141 yards on the ground from 16 carries.
