CHILLIWACK — Police say they located ammunition and 3D printed gun parts inside an abandoned car after the driver of a vehicle side-swiped another vehicle in Garrison, fled the area and later ditched his or her vehicle over the weekend.

The unusual tale unfolded Saturday night when Chilliwack RCMP were dispatched to the Garrison area of town, located south of Watson Road and west of Vedder Road, at 9:30 p.m. According to a statement from Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener, police received a complaint that a vehicle made contact with another vehicle and subsequently fled the scene.

Police were able to locate the suspect’s vehicle abandoned nearby with damage indicating there indeed had been a reported collision. A search of the vehicle revealed ammunition and 3D-printed firearm parts that were ultimately seized by police.

Chilliwack RCMP says they’re looking to identify the driver of the vehicle to advance the investigation.
