School expansion announcements for Langley

LANGLEY — B.C.’s Ministry of Education says the fast-growing community of Langley is getting a new middle school to meet growing enrolment demands.

Education Minister Rachna Singh says the new school will serve students in the township’s Willoughby area.

The province says R.E. Mountain Secondary will also be getting an addition under this year’s budget, which it says is the largest school capital budget in B.C.’s history.

Township of Langley Mayor Eric Woodward says school capacity needs to keep up with the township’s growth.
