CHILLIWACK — B.C. Ambulance Service, Chilliwack River Valley Fire Department, Cultus Lake Fire Department, and Chilliwack Search and Rescue were dispatched Sunday afternoon (Dec. 17) to an area south of Chilliwack Lake Road after an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) rolled over, leaving the driver pinned.

According to scanner traffic Sunday afternoon, multiple agencies responded to an area south of Tamihi Liumchen Forest Service Road, southeast of the Vedder Bridge, after an ATV rider rolled over. First responders had to cut the male from his ATV.

The spouse of the ATV rider advised people on Facebook that Chilliwack River Valley Fire Department and Chilliwack Search and Rescue did an exceptional job helping her husband.

“SAR and Chilliwack River Valley Fire were phenomenal,” the social media user indicated. “They had to cut him out of his ATV. Very grateful to them. He has minor injuries. He will heal. Merry Christmas everyone.”

The ATV rider himself also thanked first responders for their amazing efforts.

“Thank you everyone, a big shout out to SAR and Chilliwack River Fire Rescue,” he said. “You guys are amazing.”

According to Andrea Visscher, spokesperson for the Provincial Health Services Authority of B.C., two ground ambulances were dispatched to the area at approximately 12:29 p.m. A patient was transported to hospital in stable condition, Visscher said. No air ambulance was utilized to assist the patient, Visscher said.
