Chilliwack River Valley Fire Dept. collects hundreds in cash donations, dozens of boxes for its canned food drive
CHILLIWACK RIVER VALLEY — Residents of the Chilliwack River Valley responded to their rural fire department’s annual canned food drive with generous hearts.
According to a Facebook post from the Chilliwack River Valley Fire Department, volunteer firefighters and members alike collected 59 boxes of food and over $700 in cash donations on Tuesday night (Dec. 5).
” A huge thank you to all the residents of the CRV!” CRFVD posted on Facebook. “So many generous donations last night for our Annual Canned Food Drive.”
The department expressed gratitude to Steve’s Poké Bar in Garrison (109-5535 Vedder Road) for delivering Hawaiian chili to the CRFVD fire hall on Chilliwack Lake Road afterwards to warm up all the crews who took part in the food drive.
