FVRD to consider rezoning application to develop RV campground north of Hope
HOPE — The availability of campground sites can be slim pickings during the peak summer season, particularly at popular camping sites around Cultus Lake and the Chilliwack River Valley, since people often reserve their favourite spots through the BC Parks campground system four months in advance.
According to the applicant behind a proposed RV campground and park site in the Fraser Canyon, there is a strong demand for RV camping in the area likewise.
The Fraser Valley Regional District will give first reading and consider a rezoning application at its meeting this Thursday (Sept. 28) to develop a 9.3-hectare (23 acres) parcel of land at 26793 Dogwood Valley Lane, north of Hope, for the purpose of building 47 RV sites just off Highway 1 in the Fraser Canyon.
