Campfire ban returns for Fraser Valley and beyond
CHILLIWACK — A new campfire ban in the Coastal Fire Centre, which includes the Fraser Valley, goes into effect Friday (Jul. 7) at noon. The ban covers the entire Coastal Fire Centre with the exception of the Haida Gwaii Forest District.
The ban was initially put in place earlier this year due to dry conditions throughout the area but was partially lifted in most areas except for Chilliwack last month. The new ban will remain in place until October 31 unless it is rescinded earlier.
