CHILLIWACK — Nearly six months after he was reported missing in December 2022, Mounties from the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment in Chilliwack have confirmed that a 58-year-old Indigenous man has been located deceased.
In a statement released Monday afternoon (June 19), RCMP Corporal Martin Godard, media relations spokesperson for the detachment, said James Thibert has passed away.
The cause of his death is not considered suspicious, Cpl. Godard said.
“We offer our sincere condolences to the friends and family of the deceased,” Cpl. Godard said.
