CHILLIWACK — The Valley Huskers are poised to welcome to its roster a familiar face among local football fans.

A day after standout wide receiver Braeden Macdonald committed to play for them, the Huskers announced on Facebook that quarterback Lucas Feaver from G.W. Graham has joined their roster.

“Announcing the commitment of Lucas Feaver from Chilliwack, BC,” the Huskers wrote on Facebook at 11:27 a.m. Thursday (June 15). “Welcome to the Huskers fam! @lucasfeaver.”

Feaver, like Macdonald, had been hoping to join the Simon Fraser University football team until the postsecondary institution suddenly rescinded its football program earlier this year.

Feaver brings a ton of playoff experience and talent to the table. He amassed 2,401 passing yards and 27 passing TDs during a memorable 2022 season in which the Grizzlies won 11 games en route to the provincial championship game.

Feaver, a 5-foot-9, 175-pounder who holds a 3.25 GPA and runs a 4.89 speed in the 40-yard dash, previously received an athletic scholarship to SFU in Burnaby and gained acceptance into the SFU Beedie School of Business. Among his most impressive single-game performances, he threw for six TDs in a 69-7 win over Mount Boucherie in October 2022.
