Fire burns Chilliwack RCMP Highway Patrol station

CHILLIWACK — A fire at the Chilliwack RCMP’s Highway Patrol office was contained by the Chilliwack Fire Department Friday (May 19) afternoon.
Witnesses reported seeing smoke rising from the building along Airport Road around 4:30 p.m.
Firefighters from across Chilliwack were dispatched to the site and closed traffic along Airport Road. They quickly gained control of the flames.
The cause of the fire or a damage estimate has not been released.
