Chilliwack Chiefs face Coquitlam in first round BCHL playoff rematch

CHILLIWACK — The Chilliwack Chiefs will open their BC Hockey League playoffs against Mainland Division rivals Coquitlam Express this weekend.

In a rematch of last year’s first round series, the Chiefs will try to eliminate the Express once again. Last spring’s series was a seven-game thriller, with the Chiefs winning the decisive game on home ice. This year, the Express will have home ice advantage in the best of seven affair.

Head to head, the Express beat the Chiefs in five of their eight regular season games against each other. Five of the games were decided by a goal. Another was a two goal difference, although that included an empty net goal.

Game 4 – Wednesday, April 5, Chilliwack Coliseum – 7 p.m.

Game 5 – Friday, April 7, Poirier Sports & Leisure Complex – Coquitlam – 7:00 p.m. *IF NECESSARY*

Game 6 – Saturday, April 8, Chilliwack Coliseum – 6 p.m. *IF NECESSARY*
