ABBOTSFORD – Police in Abbotsford teamed up with their partners in Mission for an overnight traffic blitz focused on keeping area roads safe, checking drivers for signs of impairment, and ensuring compliance with traffic laws.

The combined efforts of the AbbyPD and Mission RCMP paid off as six vehicles were impounded, nearly a dozen impaired drivers were caught, and several drivers who were clocked at more than 70 km/h over the posted speed limit.

“Speeds like these put everyone on the road at significant risk and can lead to devastating consequences. At the same time, our Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU) continued targeted enforcement in areas known for impaired driving activity,” AbbyPD said.
