Mission teen arrested after allegedly brandishing knife during dust-up with property owners

MISSION – A teenager has been arrested for allegedly brandishing a knife after an incident of disorderly youth conduct in Mission last week.

In a statement, Mission RCMP Corporal Harrison Mohr says a group of youth ages 11-13 years old were reportedly swearing, throwing things and damaging a tree in the area of Melburn Drive on Tuesday evening, August 31.

Police say things escalated when the youths involved in the public disturbance began sitting on a fence bordering a residential property. The property owners told the youth to get off the fence, which reportedly led to one of the youth swearing at the homeowners and brandishing a knife before running away, Corporal Mohr said.

Fortunately, Mission RCMP officers were able to locate the group nearby. Police arrested the youth who had allegedly displayed the knife.
