B.C. hunters fined thousands of dollars for dangerous hunting after they killed a mule deer buck

Two B.C. residents have been fined thousands of dollars for dangerous hunting after they illegally entered a private field in the evening and killed a mule deer buck.

According to the Conservation Officer Service of British Columbia, Kristen Johnny and Colin Williams unlawfully entered a private cultivated field on October 8, 2022, between 10:44 p.m. and 11:08 p.m., and killed a mule deer buck.

A court ruling states that sunset on that day happened at 6:31 p.m.

Johnny and Williams, both Cariboo residents, recently pleaded guilty in Williams Lake provincial court to Wildlife Act Section 28 – hunt without consideration for the lives, safety, or property of others.
