Police hope to locate 2 motorists seen driving dangerously in Abbotsford (VIDEO)

ABBOTSFORD – Police in Abbotsford are appealing to the public for information about two motorists who were seen driving recklessly in a posted 30 km/h zone Wednesday morning.

In a statement, the Abbotsford Police Department says it’s well aware of a video circulating online that shows two vehicles racing dangerously through traffic in a 30 km/h zone on Old Yale Road near McMillan Road at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, Sept. 2.

Police say they’re investigating this incident and have obtained the original video that was posted on social media. They’re asking anyone who witnessed the incident, has information about the vehicles involved, or possesses dashcam footage from the area at the time, to come forward and email AbbyPD at communications@abbypd.ca.

“Dangerous driving behaviours, including excessive speeding and reckless driving, put all road users at risk and will not be tolerated,” police said. “AbbyPD reminds anyone who witnesses similar incidents to report them to police as soon as possible by calling our Report Desk at 604-859-5225 or by texting 222973. Community reports play an important role in helping keep our roads safe.”
