Crews tackle out-of-control wildfire in Hope

HOPE — The Hope Fire Department says it quickly put out a “large” wildfire Friday afternoon (Aug. 21).

At around 3 p.m., 12 members on three apparatus responded to the incident above Exit 170 on Flood Hope Road.

Crews “rapidly” knocked down and contained the fire to an area of about 50 by 50 feet.

There have been no injuries reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
