Surrey pedestrian succumbs to injuries after being struck by TransLink bus
SURREY – Police in Surrey now say a man in his 60s who was struck by a TransLink bus in July has sadly died.
Surrey Police Service Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton says police were contacted by BCEHS paramedics about a seriously injured pedestrian lying on the roadway at the intersection of 128 Street and 96 Avenue in Surrey on July 11, 2026, at about 9:41 p.m.
Officers arrived and located the pedestrian who was receiving emergency medical treatment from BCEHS paramedics. SPS officers also located a TransLink bus and driver at the scene. The pedestrian, was transported to hospital for treatment of critical, life-threatening injuries.
SPS’s Collision Investigation Unit was called in and took over the investigation.
