CHILLIWACK – After purchasing the property less than a year ago on which a former business centre was located and had it demolished earlier this year, the City of Chilliwack now says a 65-stall parking lot in downtown Chilliwack is ready for usage.

On its website, the city says construction on the parking lot located at 9240 Young Road, 45998, 46002 and 46010 Princess Avenue began in June 2026, to provide additional parking for those visiting the downtown core.

The parking lot will feature 65 parking spaces with one accessible stall, a multi-use pathway along the Princess Avenue frontage, a boulevard with street trees, lighting upgrades and drainage upgrades.

The city says the parking lot is now paved with line markings and is ready to use.

Lighting, landscaping and sidewalk upgrades are scheduled for completion in August/September.

The City of Chilliwack purchased the properties at 9240 Young Road and 46010 Princess Avenue in late 2025.
