CHILLIWACK – The City of Chilliwack plans to pave up to six more roads across the city over the next two months.

On its website, the city says the six roads are scheduled to be paved between August and October. The six roads are located in Rosedale, near Little Mountain, Ryder Lake, Yarrow, Greendale and near Fairfield Island.

The roads include Annis Road from Chilliwack Central Road to Yale Road; Yale Road between Menzies Street and Windsor Street; Ryder Lake Road between Ross Road and Windsor Street; Giesbrecht Road from Vedder Mountain Road to the dike north of Duncan Road; and McSween Road between Bell Road and Ballam Road.

One of the city’s most recent examples of road paving involves Vedder Road in Sardis between Knight Road and Alder Avenue. That project lasted several weeks before it was recently completed, though it does need lane marking.

On a related note, the city says its 2026 line-marking program is scheduled to begin in August and continue through the fall. The municipality says line-marking activities will primarily take place during nighttime hours to minimize disruption. Motorists should expect minor traffic delays and are asked to keep their distance when the contractor is completing the work.

As part of the line-marking program, many of the city’s road markings are repainted, including crosswalks, stop bars, long line markings and school zone markings.

In 2025, the city completed 330 km of long-line road markings, the equivalent of the distance from Chilliwack to Revelstoke. Long line road markings consist of centerlines, lane lines and edge lines.
