Small landslide comes down from Bridal Veil Falls Saturday

CHILLIWACK — Bridal Veil Falls Provincial Park had been closed for a time after a small landslide Saturday afternoon (Aug. 1).

Scanner traffic reported the incident at around 4:45 p.m. Popkum Fire Rescue responded, with RCMP and Kent Harrison Search and Rescue paged out to the scene.

Roughly eight people were allegedly hurt, but walking.

A witness told Fraser Valley Today that trees and rocks came down from the waterfalls, and that medical staff were checking at least four people.

Video taken after the park was closed shows some mud sitting by the top of the falls.

There are no known closures at the park as of Sunday morning.
