Police investigating after Langley senior dies in hospital following assault
LANGLEY — Homicide investigators are now seeking more information after an assault led to the death of a Langley senior in hospital in early July.
Police say 75-year-old Larry Greig was found with serious injuries near Park Avenue and Douglas Crescent at around 9:48 p.m. on Canada Day, when he was taken to hospital in serious condition.
He died from his injuries a week later, on July 9. IHIT was then called in to investigate in partnership with Langley RCMP, the Integrated Forensic Identification Services (IFIS) and the BC Coroners Service.
“Investigation to date suggests Mr. Greig became involved in a physical altercation shortly after leaving a licensed establishment,” said Sgt. Freda Fong of IHIT. “Homicide investigators are looking to speak with the following individuals who were in the area at the time of the offence and may have witnessed something important.”
