CHILLIWACK — Cultus Lake officials are urging residents and visitors to stay safe with reports of increased bear activity in the area.

The Park has released guidelines to keep both people and wildlife safe, such as containing garbage, pet food, and other attractants within the leased lot, keeping them on the property until collection day, and cleaning outdoor cooking areas.

“Your cooperation helps protect our community, our residents, and local wildlife by reducing preventable human-bear interactions,” said the Park. “Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our community safe.”

Bylaw enforcement officers are set to actively watch for non-compliance with the Park’s mandatory wildlife attractants bylaw.
