CHILLIWACK – Following a job fair that saw over 60 people hired and fully trained, coupled with a soft opening that exceeded their expectations, Farmhouse Brewing is set to open next week at its new location in Abbotsford.

The Chilliwack-based brewery, headed up by Colleen and Dan Neels, announced on social media that it will officially open next Monday, July 20 at 1356 Sumas Way just south of Highway 1.

“7 days until our Grand Opening!!” Farmhouse wrote on socials. “The first week of Soft Opening has been above and beyond amazing! Thank you to all of our guests who’ve come by and have been SO kind while our staff have been training One more week to go!!”

The soft opening has more than exceeded the brewery’s expectations.

“Thank you Abbotsford for your support! What a start!! Cheers to you all!”

Since that hiring fair in early June, the Chilliwack-based brewery has been working diligently to on-board the new employees.

“Training has begun at Farmhouse Abby!” the company wrote online in June. “We’re hard at work together & the energy has been nothing short of electric! We’re building more than just a brewery—we’re building a community for everyone, and we can’t wait to welcome you in to experience it with us!”

The brewery will continue its tradition of Music Mondays from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Coming up in Chilliwack next Monday, July 20 is Jonas Wilson, while Desiree Walde will perform at Farmhouse Abby this coming Monday, July 20.

The Abbotsford hours will be similar to its Chilliwack location, 11:30-9 Monday through Thursday, and 11:30-10 Friday and Saturday.

Its Abbotsford location will be nearly identical to the Chilliwack location with a few exceptions, co-owner Colleen Neels said.

“Both will have different rotating flavours of radlers and flavoured cheesecakes on. The core beers will be the same, however they will likely have different seasonal brews on depending how thirsty people are who visit each location,” Neels told Fraser Valley Today. “The inside is the same vibes, but on a lot larger of a scale. Layout inside and outside is different from each other, however both are equally welcoming.”

Farmhouse Brewing Co. is known for its artisan-style pizza, outdoor setting, a playground on its grounds, and a variety of drinks, from non-alcoholic beverages to beers (e.g., lagers, pilsners, IPAs, radlers etc.) and sours (e.g., raspberry lemonade sour, blackberry peach cobbler sour).
