Surrey man dead in collision near Hope Wednesday afternoon

HOPE — A man has died after his pick-up truck drove off the road on Highway 1 near Hope Wednesday afternoon (June 24).

BC Highway Police say an older-model white Ford F-350 with a camper was involved in the collision on the highway at Flood Hope Road just after 1 p.m.

The truck ended up in rocky terrain that was hard to access, and first responders found the lone occupant, a 50-year-old driver, dead at the scene.

Highway 1 was partially closed while police investigated, but has now fully reopened.
