Mission RCMP seize multiple guns during illegal shooting operations up Lost Creek FSR
MISSION – Police in Mission seized multiple guns during enforcement activities directed at illegal shooting up Lost Creek Forest Service Road last weekend, with the violators residing in Abbotsford, Surrey and elsewhere.
Mission RCMP spokesperson Corporal Harrison Mohr says a witness reported seeing a group of males shooting around the 7.5-km marker of Lost Creek FSR last Saturday, June 13 at about 6:45 p.m. Police attended and found five males from Abbotsford associated to a blue GMC Sierra. Two were shooting guns while the other three said they were there to watch.
The two gun owners, both 21 years old, had their five firearms seized by police for further investigation and later received a $690 ticket apiece for discharging a firearm in a no-shooting area.
Roughly an hour later last Saturday evening (June 13), while police were engaged in proactive patrols of the area, they located a group of five people, two of which were actively shooting. Four firearms were confiscated from a 27-year-old Delta man and a 26-year-old Surrey man.
