Police confirm fatality in Maple Ridge Saturday night

MAPLE RIDGE – Details are limited at this point in the investigation, but police in Maple Ridge have sadly confirmed the death of a motorist following a motor vehicle incident Saturday night in Maple Ridge.

According to a statement from the Maple Ridge RCMP detachment, police are currently on scene at Lougheed Highway and 287 Street investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash.

Westbound traffic on Lougheed Highway between 287 Street and Hayward Street (Mission) is currently closed as of 10:12 p.m. Saturday night.

The Maple Ridge RCMP detachment is asking for motorists to be patient in their commute, and that motorists plan for an alternative route.
