RCMP arrest Aldergrove man who was seen throwing things off a balcony Wednesday morning

ALDERGROVE – Mounties in Langley were called to Aldergrove Wednesday morning after getting reports of a disturbance near the 7/11 on Fraser Highway.

Langley RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Zynal Sharoom says police attended the area of the 27200 block of Fraser Highway and observed a suspect who was reportedly throwing items off a balcony.

Numerous officers attended the area and took the suspect into custody with assistance from Integrated Lower Mainland Police Dog Services personnel.

The accused remains in police custody while the investigation is on-going.

“We can confirm that there is no on-going risk to the public as this was an isolated incident,” Sgt. Sharoom said.

A witness on scene alleges the suspect had been hiding from police. Pictures from an X account depict a man being walked from an upstairs apartment and detained before he was placed in an RCMP SUV.

Police provided no further details about the incident.
