26-year-old fined for driving more than double the speed limit in Abbotsford

ABBOTSFORD — Abbotsford police continue to catch speeding drivers across the community this weekend.

Just after 5 p.m. Friday (June 5), an officer spotted a sedan heading westbound on Downes Road, near Glenmore Road, at 104 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.

The 26-year-old driver was issued an excessive speeding violation, and their car was impounded for a week.

“As we head into the weekend, enforcement will continue,” said the Abbotsford Police Department. “If you choose to speed, expect to be stopped. Excessive speed isn’t just illegal—it puts lives at risk. Slow down, drive responsibly, and help keep our roads safe for everyone.”
