PWHL awards expansion franchises to Hamilton, Las Vegas for next season

The Professional Women’s Hockey League will expand to both Hamilton and Las Vegas next season.

That brings the number of teams in the league to 11 after the league announced the addition of Detroit last week.

The PWHL could still reveal another expansion team as the stated plan was to add two to four more clubs for next season.

Hamilton’s yet-to-be-named team will play out of the 18,000-seat TD Coliseum, while Las Vegas will share T-Mobile Arena with the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights.
